How we evaluate GPUs

Every GPU recommendation on Best GPU for AI goes through the same structured evaluation. This page explains what we actually check, where the data comes from, and how we decide what to recommend.

What we measure

We focus on the specs and behaviors that actually determine whether a GPU is good for a given AI workload. Every buyer guide and comparison on this site considers at least these factors:

Data sources

We rely on a combination of primary benchmark sources and community performance reports. We do not run every GPU in our own lab — instead, we synthesize data from multiple trusted sources and cross-check against community experience:

Our evaluation process

  1. Intent-first framing. Every article starts with the reader's actual question (budget bracket, specific model, workload) rather than starting from a GPU.
  2. VRAM fit check. We map the target workload to VRAM requirements at multiple quantization levels before recommending any specific card.
  3. Benchmark cross-reference. Performance claims are triangulated across at least two independent sources — one manufacturer or reviewer, one community data point.
  4. Value comparison. For every price point, we compare against used-market alternatives and cloud GPU options before recommending a new card.
  5. Real-world constraints. Power supply, case airflow, motherboard PCIe lanes, and driver stability are factored in rather than treated as afterthoughts.

What we don't do

How we handle updates

GPU pricing and AI model requirements change quickly. We refresh articles when:

When we update an article, we update the dateModified timestamp. We do not artificially bump dates on unchanged articles to appear fresh.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, outdated benchmark, or broken recommendation, we want to fix it. The best way is the feedback channels listed on our About page. We publish corrections transparently.

Affiliate disclosure

Best GPU for AI participates in the Amazon Associates program and cloud GPU referral programs (RunPod, Vast.ai). If you buy through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commission differences do not change our recommendations — we recommend based on VRAM, performance, and price-to-value, not payout rate. Full details on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
